Comparison of Three Treatment Effects in atypical Adults with High Blood Pressure
A study about how two different therapies were effective in different patients In a previous study, we reported on the effectiveness of a behavior therapy intervention with two different targets: an individualized cognitive behavior treatment for individuals with ADHD and a HealthPASS hypertension management intervention for people with hypertension. In this study, we aimed to compare the outcomes of these interventions in two different patient populations, by measuring Change in Global Status (CGS), corridor scores, and clinical effectiveness symptoms (CEIs) measured at baseline. We enrolled 30 adults who had a CGS score >4.5 and insurance coverage for hypertension medication; only 12 participants had any form of Medication compared to 26 participants who did not have insurance and only 4 participants who did not have a CGS score. We randomly assigned each participant to receive one of the following interventions: group cognitive behavior therapy (GCP), HealthPASS hypertension management, or wait-list control.
